Day 01
LIMA
Arrival and transfer to your hotel. If you arrive early, we can
arrange optional tours to visit the city center and or museums.
Day 02
LIMA - CUSCO
Morning departure for flight to Cusco, center of the Inca Empire.
Airport - transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free
to relax and acclimatize to the altitude (10,856 ft.). I suggest you make no big
plans for your first day, you MUST acclimate to the altitude ....
Day 03
CUSCO
Morning free for shopping and sightseeing. An afternoon tour of
Cusco's temples, Plaza de Armes, churches and the nearby ruins of
Sacsayhuaman, Kenko and Tambomachay will educate you on the history of
this cities impacting cultures.
Day 04
CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY
Full day guided excursion to the Sacred Valley, as important
today as it was during the reign of the Incas. Here we
will visit the picturesque Pisac Indian Market, then continue down the
Urubamba Valley. After lunch we reach Ollantaytambo,
a small town with an impressive Inca fortress. and Inca village Overnight at a
local hotel in Urubamba.
Day
05 MACHU PICCHU
Early transfer from your hotel to the train station at
Ollantaytambo. The scenery during this two-hour ride down the
Urubamba gorge changes from mountain vegetation to cloud forest.
Arrival at the station and a bus ride will bring you to the mountain
citadel of Machu Picchu, for a full day guided tour.
Afternoon return to nearby Aguas Calientes and overnight at a local
hotel.
Day 06
MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
Optional early rise for those who want to experience the serene beauty
of Machu Picchu in the morning (great opportunity for crowd less
photos). The other option is to sleep in, relax and stay around
the village. Afternoon train return to Cusco, where we will arrive in
the evening. Transfer to your hotel.
Day
07 CUSCO - LIMA
Morning transfer to the airport for the return flight to Lima and your
connecting international flight (End of Services). Trip
extensions to other regions or extra days in Lima or Cusco can also be
arranged.
Physical Note....
This Machu Picchu Peru tour adventure involves easy to
moderate walking at high elevations (above 10,000 ft.).
Good walking/aerobic fitness is required.
Note: Any physical activity at high altitude can be a
challenge. It is the traveler's responsibility to best evaluate their
physical ability to meet the stated Physical Requirements.

02 Lima - Pto Maldonado - Corto Maltes Lodge
Morning transfer to airport for flight to Puerto Maldonado. 45 minute
motorized canoe ride down the Madre de Dios River brings us to the
lodge and a welcome orientation. Unpack, unwind and explore the
lodge's surroundings while waiting for dinner. Possible medicinal herb
tour of the near jungle.
Day 03 - 05
Guided Amazon Jungle tours to Monkey Island, Lago Sandoval, A
Parrot Lick, Jungle walks ..Bird Watching, Night Trip on Madre de Dios to spot caimans, (weather
permitting),
Day 06 - Pto
Maldonado - Lima
We start out early in the day to travel upriver to Puerto
Maldonado for our return flight to Lima, Time allowing, A stop at the
Butterfly House in Pto. Maldonado
Day 07 - Flight
Home - (Time Allowing, Last day of shopping for souvenirs in Lima)
